This is my story and I'm sticking to it ❤ Honestly, full-on truth; God has proven this to me time and time again.  ❤He's purposed my own experience with various forms of abuse/misuse to reach those who are wounded by abusive authority figures and leadership  (in friendships, in families, in churches, in marriage and in their career path).  ❤He's purposed my experiences with passive leadership who choose to not interrupt abuse and highlighted to me the importance of speaking up for the weak and down-trodden.  ❤He's purposed my history with self-loathing and used it as an ongoing example of choosing to heal and live in freedom.  And in all of this, He has taught me grace toward the abusers and misusers in my life, by giving me the sight to see how hurt and wounded they are/have been. It was this Wednesday that I had stayed home from the office. I was doing some household things, vacuuming, dusting, and such while listening to the Modern Day Hymns playlist on Spotify, when suddenly the Spirit of God gripped my heart and spoke. I sat down under the weight of it. If you have ever felt this you know of what I experienced. Looking back, it's as if the weightier the message - the weightier the Presence.  This was a powerful experience and a powerful Word in my life. An hour or so passed before I felt release from the weight and the urging of the LORD to share what He'd given me. I'll share what I heard from the Lord, and I'll also share the convictions I came away from that experience with.  Here is what I heard from the Lord:  "Be mindful when voices place a question on following my direction. My thoughts often center around Leadership, especially in the areas of Christian Business and Christian Ministry. As a ministry leader, I often pray that the LORD would allow my heart to grow in leadership matters and that He would reveal to me the area(s) that He would have me improve in. And although I wish this was a "download" situation, it's almost always growth through experience - sometimes really challenging and painful experience(s). In these situations Galatians 6:9 helps me "hang in there." My need for real improvement is sometimes difficult to discern, especially when I fall into the company of manipulative, controlling leaders. In the years that I spent under the influence of such leaders, inside of me developed a tendency toward people-pleasing behaviors - which sabotages actual, sustainable growth.
