  Merry Christmas 2022 After repeated and failed attempts to fly out of Buffalo before the 2022 blizzard hit, I am here waiting to fly out on Wednesday evening. When the weather was good here, it was bad for connecting flights. This means I was able to get a bit creative in sharing from my heart with family and loved ones. Music is important in my life and something that I love to share with significant others in my life so that is my go-to today and will continue to be a point of sharing important moments with you all.  I trust you are enjoying a blessed Christmas day, reveling in the Truth of our Savior! 

You probably already know the history of the word "Noel"  but just in case,  here you go :) English speakers borrowed the word  noel  from the French. The word can be traced further back to the Latin word  natalis,  which is used like "birthday" as a noun or "of or relating to birth" as an adjective. (The English adjective  natal  has the same meaning and is also an offspring of  natalis. ). I recently learned that Noels are also musical announcements/greetings.  Noels were being sung in Latin or French for centuries before the word found its way into our language in the 1800s. The earliest known musical use of  noel  occurred in the text of a Christmas  motet  called "Nova vobis gaudia," which was written in the 1400s.  Wow!  For me, this connects nicely to the use of music & poetry that invites us all to celebrate the birth of our Messiah.  Happy Christmas and Merry Noels! ...

I was able to find humor in the recent besetting of Pneumonia upon my lungs and thought you might enjoy a glimpse into the stand-up comedian that is so well camouflaged among the native species of ministry-oriented PK, single mom, career woman foliage of my life. Although this thing seems to be quite the "hanger on" - I'm much better now. Your prayers for my health are so appreciated, and those 115  banked "Sick Hours" have sure come in handy. Thank the Lord.
