It's Not You, It's Me... no really, It's Me

Have you ever stopped to take a critical look at the relationships in your life? If so you'll remember the feeling of dread when you come face to face with the fact that some of your relationships are unhealthy and even harmful. The feeling of "whoops" comes in when you realize that unhealthy relationships are most often developed when we are in an unhealthy place ourselves. Many times the person with relationship issues is able to identify that their unhealthy relationship is a by-product of seeking to end their own loneliness. If you have not been through this process take note: It is not easy to evaluate relationships ! Because of our own fallibleness it is hard to evaluate relationships. Can we determine that someone or some relationship in our life is unhealthy when we ourselves are sometimes struggling and still in the growth process? Yes! We can and should. Knowing how you fit and where you stand in the hearts of those people in your life is an important part o...

Great Hair in a Hurry

These days it's challenging to make time to sit down and make an appointment at the salon. I'm running ninety to nothing all day. I love my life and don't mind being busy. However, my hair is in desperate need of care: a trim and touch up the highlights, please. This day the braid looked great on the 1st go round! When it gets to this point I get to be creative with my style. There are a couple things I do, but the side french braid is one of my favorites because it's so quick and classic. This hair style looks good with just about any outfit and is suitable for a day at the office, a hike in the canyon or a bike ride. I had the perfect amount of tension on this braid Never mind the apron, I was in the middle of making banana bread <3

That Christmas feeling...

I've heard over and again "I love the feeling of Christmas..." which got me to consider: 1. What does "the feeling of Christmas"...um...feel like? 2. What produces "the feeling of Christmas"? 3. Must "the feeling of Christmas" happen during a specific time each year? I have answers of my own but I want to hear from you. Will you share your answers and other comments about "the feeling of Christmas"?
I'm tickled pink over the cool weather that has settled in Tucson over the last few days. I especially love desert nights this time of year. The air is chilled just enough to warrant pulling out your favorite down comforter, your thinnest cable knit sweater and mixing up home baked goods.  The coolness of evening partnered with hot cocoa & freshly baked banana or zucchini bread...  YUM! Apparently my most recent culinary creations are so delightful that they incite violence. My dear friend warned, " this banana bread is so good it'll make ya' wanna slap yo mamma! " My resp onse was along the lines of what comedian Tim Hawkins said, " well then, I guess I'll pass, 'cause that would be awkward, being that Mom is sitting right next to me. .."  I love to bake & yes my creations do tend toward the delectable; although I would despair to imagine someone's mom being slapped over the tasty niblets that are created in my kitche...

Sitting in the victors circle -

When we get to the end of life on earth and contemplate the journey, to some it seems that we have fallen victim to and have been overcome by disease, illness, pain and death. It may seem that we were too weak to win the last battle and that is why life on earth is ended. Let us remember that all things in this life are leading us toward eternal life. Those who are Blood bought, Spirit filled, Bible believing and Jesus serving are those who understand that this place, this body, this carnal shell is not the end all and be all. Eternity is the bottom line for the Christian; the soul is what we invest in. Those who are obsessed with temporal life do not understand and cannot grasp why we rejoice when a faithful follower of Christ passes into eternal life. Those with dimmed vision and limited understanding of faith in God are angered & fearful at the idea of death however; those who decidedly live for Christ cannot help but celebrate when another Christian’s earthly journey comes t...

Life to a decaying soul ~

I don't belong to this world & the sin abounding here brings me tears... I live to bring them to you Lord. No other One I know can bring life into a decaying soul and breath peace to troubled existance Help me- help them choose you while there is still a choice to be made. Help me not sit still until it's to late. I don't belong to this world & the sin abounding here brings me tears.I live, and bring them to you Lord.

The Crossroad of Fantasy and Truth

We are conditioned to believe that if we accept everything & everyone that comes before us we will be loved. There is a time in every life that we come to the crossroad of Fantasy and Truth. The majority choose to walk on the road of Fantasy rather than the road of Truth. The road of Fantasy is full of all the things that please oneself. Each Fantasy Rd. looks different and appeals to the carnality of the individual standing at its entrance. As far as the eye can see there are beautiful things, fun people, big money, fame, notoriety, and the easy life that the flesh desires. The part that never seems to occur to the one standing at the entrance of Fantasy Rd. is that the road continues beyond the distance that the eye can see. Beyond this point is where things begin to change, drastically change. Beyond that distant point is the part of Fantasy Rd. that holds a tarnished life, emptiness, being more alone than one can imagine, moral bankruptcy, ...
