Qualifications: Prefer experience with caring for and/or teaching children; minimum High School or GED; ability to communicate effectively and discipline properly; patience, gentleness, and kindness; ability to teach multi-age group, explain the Gospel and salvation to children; evangelical Christian

Employment Status: Part-time hourly non-exempt and eligible for paid time off

Salary Range: $8.00 - $10.00 hr

Responsibilities & Duties
Children’s Program (95%)
Pray with, advise and direct the efforts of children and parents relating to spiritual, personal, and program needs
Monitor, observe, teach, and interact with children
Prepare and implement lesson and activity plans for a multi-age class in Children’s Chapel Monday through Friday
Evaluate spiritual condition of children, present salvation in an age appropriate way and disciple children in their walk with Jesus
Develop and maintain the Children’s Chapel volunteer program. Orient and train volunteers and integrate them into the Children’s Chapel Program
Orient, train and support mother helpers and integrate them into Children’s Chapel
Maintain an updated schedule of volunteers and mother helpers
Work closely with Adult Chaplain
Provide age appropriate teaching/correction, redirection, crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
Care for safety and physical needs of children and babies, including meals/feeding, medical, safety, bathroom/diapering, etc.
Collaborate with Children’s Program Supervisor regarding the continuity of care of the children and support/interactions with mothers, working together to meet treatment plan for each child
Fill out chapel reports and maintain nightly records
Document progress and concerns in client files
Complete incident reports in a timely fashion and give copy to immediate supervisor

Other (5%)
Help provide transportation as needed
Attend staffings as needed or directed , Children’s Program meetings, and other meetings as requested
Attend seminars and professional training as directed
Clean and sanitize room equipment and toys, restore room for next day use
Coordinate with Children’s Program Supervisor to maintain Chapel supply inventory and equipment, including Bibles, workbooks, etc.
