Trust

If you have a difficult time trusting God. This post is with you in mind. I have been there and I really want to reach out to you and share what I've learned in my journey to trust ability.

Our ability to trust God is directly related to our experience with earthly authority figures. We unwittingly project the failures of various earthly leaders onto God and we set up walls to keep us from feeling vulnerable. These walls will keep us from closeness with God. May I encourage you to challenge yourself in this area and intentionally break down at least a portion of the walls you have built?

Please realize that humans will fail. Even when we try not to, we do. Apparently, falling short is part of the human experience. We're all on the giving and the receiving end of that, so be careful that you don't place expectations on others that you yourself are unable to live up to.

Yes, earthly authority figures will at times put themselves first, seeing to their own desires first, making sure they have theirs whether knowingly or unknowingly choosing themselves over others time and time again. God never does this though. He left all of Heaven and made Himself lowly to reach and to let us reach Him. He came from a place of complete perfection to the frailty of Earth and did it on purpose with us in mind.

To this day He loves deeply in this way, even loving those who are untrue in relationship to Him and loving those who deny Him a relationship with them.

He is compassionate.
He is just.
He is wise.
He is altogether trustworthy.

If you will reach out to Him tonight. Just talk to Him like you would a friend, you have access to God through Jesus. Your walls are not too high or too thick; you created them and you can break them with one decision made to intentionally smash them. Just decide and practice a little if you must
He listens to your prayer, to your apology and feels the truth from repentant hearts. He will walk with you into a new level of trusting and walking in faith.

I'm not sure who this is for, but I'm praying for you tonight. I'm agreeing with God's heart for your life.

'The Wrinkles on My Face' (Lizzie's short story)

Name: Lizzie Tegart Age: 10 years Grade: 5th Date: November 12, 2012   Wrinkles on My Face It’s a dark morning. The alarm clock wakes me up with its “beep, beep, beep, beep.” I pressed the snooze button but the beeping only stopped for a while. When it started up again, I wanted to throw my alarm clock out the window but I knew that I shouldn’t so I got up. “Burr”, I said out loud. The floor was freezing cold on my toes! I tried to feel around for my bunny slippers but found only one of them, so I put on the one that I found and hopped to the bathroom. When I got there I flipped on the light; the light was bright on my tired eyes. I squinted and looked around to see my other slipper sitting by the bathtub. “Oh good,” I thought “now both feet will be warm.” After I put my other slipper on I decided to brush my teeth. Still squinting, I opened the cabinet and felt around for my toothbrush. As I looked through half closed eyes for the tube I thought, “I hope the raspber...
