Buffalo, New York

Hey guys! I am tardy in providing an update, please accept my sincere apologies. I have moved from the Hudson Valley area up to Buffalo, NY, and when I say up, I mean up. The Canadian border is 15 minutes from my office! 😁

People who contact me here or on social media have wanted to know about the change so soon after moving to NY. After a few months I realize that there is no way to simply explain the catalyst for this move other than to say that once a person has worked in agile, grace-based environments with servant leadership principles enacted, there's no going back. True to the way I function, I could not compromise my convictions about healthy work environments, so this move out of the Hudson Valley area was bound to happen eventually. Also, opportunities are presented for a purpose, and I am not one to squander an opportunity! 😊

My current role of service is with the City Mission Society which has two main program properties in Buffalo: The Alfiero Center and Cornerstone Manor. Both properties are multi-million-dollar projects; translation = lots of positive responsibility! These two properties are designed to provide a broad range of wrap-around services to those who desire life-recovery. I fill the role of property manager which coordinates program services, public relations, outreach efforts and LIHTC requirements. This hybrid role is interesting in that it requires a mix of specialist roles that allows me to mentor and equip those around me each day. Shortly after my arrival here, I began to see why God arranged for this opportunity. I love being able to champion positive change! There are many needs here, one of which is servant leadership and grace-based relationships; and this incredible organization is open to both agile workplace attributes!

I am beyond thankful for new experiences that allow me to use all that has been poured into me through the years. For those of you who have been with me for a while you know that I call these learning experienced "Yahweh University". 🙌 Speaking of university, I will be wrapping up my capstone class for this B.A. with Grand Canyon University in about ten weeks.

When people ask me what inspired me to return to school in my 40's I am happy to talk about the unnecessary difficulties that have come from an organization's leadership having poor communication skills. As much as I love the organizations that I have been able to serve with, not one of them was able to provide effective communication with its staff or its students. Many leaders are insecure and territorial which translates to chaos in their communicative efforts. This BA and subsequent MSL will help open doors to champion healthy work environments built on grace-based relationships that flow from the most senior position all the way to the interns. I really believe it!!

Content Not Complacent

Do not let contentment drift into complacency.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

What a blessing it has been to spend a couple of weeks with my family in AZ. With the newest addition to my brother's family, the girls are outnumbered! Jensen Donovan Munns "JD" is a precious boy with a big future.  I'll never not be ecstatic to spend time with Muggs, my second youngest nephew. He's two and from minute 1 we've been buddies. He's my smallest bff!!  My sweet Lizzie has some news of her own that will be shared soon. 😊 She's grown up to be an amazing and sweet young woman. Navigating those early 20's is not simple but she's making it happen. Y'all keep praying that she'll want to make a move to WI with this momma! 🙏🏼   There are no rivals that I have seen to challenge AZ views. Here are a few photos to prove my point 👉🏻
