Craftiness - but in a good way :-)

It's sandal weather here in Tucson. We're hitting mid to high 80's on the regular this February. Yeah, I'm not all that excited about it. One upside though, flip flops. With all the comings & goings at my casa, flip flops & sandals tend to end up scattered from here to yon. Having already tripped over the aforementioned scattering, I decided to do a little something that will, hopefully, encourage us all to be a little more tidy. Now, I cannot take credit for this idea. Over the last couple of years I've flirted with ideas on Pinterest but never committed to putting the work in, until now that is. You can find detailed instructions on Pinterest - from boards whose creators have time to sit and spell it out. That's not me. I mean, it's a good month when I get to share a moment or two with you all on Liz's Chatter. Plus, I like the creativity a lack of information induces. Really, I don't mind reading directions, but I'm more of a skimm...

Pneumonia Weather 2016

I was able to find humor in the recent besetting of Pneumonia upon my lungs and thought you might enjoy a glimpse into the stand-up comedian that is so well camouflaged among the native species of ministry-oriented PK, single mom, career woman foliage of my life. Although this thing seems to be quite the "hanger on" - I'm much better now. Your prayers for my health are so appreciated, and those 115  banked "Sick Hours" have sure come in handy. Thank the Lord. I hope you have a wonderfully fabulous Thursday. Make fun, not war! 😙Liz

I believe in you!!

This is to all my people who are looking at making changes in 2016; those who've decided to be truly happy not just comfortable, those who've decided that they will BE good - not just look good, those who have decided to proclaim Christ in a lost and self-centered generation. God in you has this on lock! Keep on keeping on peeps. Love you, Liz

Win souls, not arguments

Dear family, I just cannot stop thinking about a quote TF Tenney posted recently. He wrote that as he was maturing in ministry an old prophetess told him something to the effect of "...when you begin to love souls more than doctrine God can really use you." Often the arguments between the family of faith have been disparaging. And although I realize the necessity of purity in following the Word, let deeper understanding come as the Holy Spirit reveals it. When this is the case, Jesus will always be the central point of the Gospel rather than this dogma or that. Generally speaking, babes in Christ are not ready for theorizing and matters best described as subjective ideologies; they need the nutrition of the pure Gospel which is Jesus, always Jesus. Now, since seeing that post, we discuss this regularly; the ministry team God has placed around me. "When we get to the place in our walk with God that we can truly focus on souls more than on doctrine, we will be used m...

Real friends won't help you sin, but they will help you stop your sin!

Ephesians 5:11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. Proverbs 1:10 My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them. John 3:20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.  Romans 13:12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

To love like, means to live like Jesus!

I will identify, for anyone who is interested, that one of my spiritual gifts is LOVE - Agape love.  Over the weekend though I was challenged by the Holy Spirit to evaluate where I have fallen short in loving people.  This post is not to point out shortcomings in anyone; it's a reminder for me.  Perhaps you are able to identify with me on the need to evaluate/re-evaluate the function of love in your life; feel free to connect with me about it. I'd love to hear from you - we can encourage one another to love better; to love like Jesus. It would have probably been very easy for Jesus to hang out with people that lived righteously, followed the Torah and attended Temple every Sabbath, lived innocent lives never having made a poor choice, or transgressed the law in a deliberate attempt to self-medicate hurts, loneliness, anger or loss.  I'm sure from the instant He reached the age of accountability, He could have walked out of his home and found life easier not ...

Praise Him!

I apologize for the crazy movement from the camera. There was no way I could be still with the Spirit of praise & worship that was happening in the house! It has been years from the last time I was in such a gathering; and I loved it. Such services are reminiscent of my childhood having been raised in a Spirit filled church by Pentecostal A/G pastors.  For full transparency, I did my share of dancing, jumping, shouting and rejoicing. The proof that it can be done, even in 4" heeled boots, was in the resulting soreness of my calves the next day! LOL
