Trust

If you have a difficult time trusting God. This post is with you in mind. I have been there and I really want to reach out to you and share what I've learned in my journey to trust ability. Our ability to trust God is directly related to our experience with earthly authority figures. We unwittingly project the failures of various earthly leaders onto God and we set up walls to keep us from feeling vulnerable. These walls will keep us from closeness with God. May I encourage  you to challenge yourself in this area and intentionally break down at least a portion of the walls you have built? Please realize that humans will fail. Even when we try not to, we do. Apparently, falling short is part of the human experience. We're all on the giving and the receiving end of that, so be careful that you don't place expectations on others that you yourself are unable to live up to. Let's spend a portion of today being grateful for our nation and praying for the enemies of our nation.

What if the preoccupation that one has with the idea or the feeling that they're being judged is a direct result of their own spirit crying out, groaning and longing to once again walk in the Light?  What if the great lengths to which one goes in their endeavors to force their spirit into an existence that embraces transgression and chooses in favor of that which has set itself against God, is the soil that nourishes the root system from which these feelings grow? The one who is spiritually dead will have not these feelings; that which is not alive cannot feel. So then, one who has never been quickened or made spiritually alive in Christ may live in transgression and appear blissfully unaware of the spiritual harm they're experiencing. This bliss-filled, sinful life will never be the case for those of us who have experienced a trusting, loving relationship with God through Christ Jesus. Doesn't it seem like 2017 just flew by? Well, you know what they say...  Time flies when you're having fun!  I can hardly believe we're already up on the cusp of 2018! Don't you simply adore the idea of all the exciting things that are in store for us?  Maybe you're not quite there. That's okay. I remember those days.
